About Us

Have you ever had these thoughts about therapy?

  • Therapy doesn’t work.
  • Therapy is not for me it’s for people with serious mental health issues.
  • Talking to someone about my problems won’t help me.
  • I can fix the problem myself.
  • Once I start going to therapy, I’ll have to go forever.

Many people have had these same thoughts, but they’re not true! And worse, these misconceptions prevent people from enjoying the positive, life-changing benefits that therapy brings.

At Access Counselling and Wellbeing our goal is to create a comfortable and safe environment where we’ll work together to achieve the goals we set. We believe in building relationships with our clients based on respect, compatibility and a genuine need to help.
The truth about therapy is that it really works. Scientific studies consistently show that behavioural and emotional interventions work as well, if not better, than medication to treat anxiety, depression, and mental health issues. Therapy that teaches you skills, will leave you with long-term, healthy coping strategies that you can use when issues pop up.

Counselling is a guilt free environment – how often have you not wanted to burden others or not wanted to be judged and made to feel guilty about your feelings? Counselling simply requires you to turn up with an open mind and actually put yourself first for once, it gives you the opportunity to be heard like you may not be used to, taken seriously, understood, not judged and simply cared for – where else do you get the chance to be focused on so intently! Life can be difficult, we may put ourselves in those difficult situations or they may have been handed to us by others, either way, sometimes we just need to talk and that’s really what Counselling is, you have the freedom and choice to discuss what you want on your terms.

  • Clive Greaves

I was brought up in a farming environment in Africa where I was married and have two children. I ran my own farming enterprise for 13 years. In the political unrest in Zimbabwe, I decided to migrate to Australia to create a better life for my family. I have achieved this with the will to succeed and my determination to never give up on my goals.

My life skills and experience are my biggest strengths. Having faced the trauma of leaving everything behind 20 years ago and coming to a new country to start again have made me understand how difficult it can be and how to achieve goals that at times seem unachievable. I run a migration business and have done so for 15 years. I have brought many families and individuals to Australia some with very difficult situations. Met some amazing people that have humbled me and this experience is invaluable. It has taught me to understand and respect many different cultures and people from many different backgrounds.

Having been directly affected by suicide on two occasions in the last few years. I understand the difficulties that come with this both personally and with those affected by this and have helped them deal with their grief and loss.

  • Having run my own businesses since the age of twenty-four and dealing with staffing structures and people on a daily basis for 30 years gives me the knowledge and understanding of working with many different characters and making these relationships a success.

Sport and fitness and always been a big part on my life having played team sport for many years, completed three ultra-marathons and currently very committed to maintaining my health and fitness through CrossFit which I have done for 5 years. I believe that this is very important to maintaining my own self-care in life.

I believe my life skills hold me in good stead as a counsellor. And will help with:

Anger, Anxiety, Depressions, Health, Relationships, Self-esteem, Self-harm

I have achieved the following Qualifications:

    • Diploma of Counselling
